Use the 10 × 10 cm window to measure stitch and row gauge at the same time, helping you confirm gauge. The surrounding markings allow you to check knitting needle sizes by inserting straight needles through the holes, while the curved slots are designed for measuring crochet hook sizes by fitting the shaft into the opening.
The dotted markings around the swatch window are spaced at inch intervals, which is helpful when working with international patterns that use inch-based gauge measurements.
